    Good Day,

As implied by this FAQ answer, it appears your plugin does not incorporate or use all of the blocking rules contained in nG Firewall. Therefore, we have to install both your plugin and add the latest nG firewall rules to our htaccess file for optimum protection.

Based on the above, and to simplify things, it would be great if you can update your plugin’s code to ensure it always uses the blocking rules contained in nG Firewall.

That is, with BBQ Firewall installed, there should be no need to add the latest nG Firewall rules to our htaccess file.

    Thank you!

    Hey @generosus,

Thank you for the feedback, very much appreciated. In fact, this already is in the works for the pro version. Will consider adding an option to the free version as well. Thanks again and let me know if any further ideas to improve the plugin.

    Cheers!

Awesome. The Pro approach makes good business sense ??

Final Suggestion: Update your Free vs Pro comparison table to remove the line item titled “Powered by 6G/7G Firewall technology.” It’s confusing. We interpret that line item as “it incorporates the use of nG firewall rules.”

Once you update your Pro plugin code to incorporate the intent of the above suggestion, you can add a new line item to your comparison table titled “Incorporates Latest nG Firewall Rules” (or similar) — with no checkmark under the “Free” column and a checkmark under “Pro” column.

    Thank you!

Yeah that makes sense, need to make it more clear on the pro homepage. Will get that fixed up during next round of updates. Thanks @generosus.

    Hey @specialk,

Another approach would be to allow both your Free and Pro plugins to install the nG firewall rules into the user’s htaccess file, with the difference that the Free plugin updates the htaccess nG firewall rules every 30 days and the Pro plugin updates the htaccess nG firewall rules daily. Similar to what Wordfence Free vs Premium does.

Honestly, this would be a nicer, friendlier approach for your plugin users.

    Cheers ??
