Enhancement: Assign current category filter to new uploaded images

Just wanted to mention an awkward UX, at least in the free version. If you have selected a category from the media library view and upload additional images, it will look as if upload is silently failing. This is because all uploaded images are “Uncategorized” and so won’t appear in the selected category.
Mostly wanted to save someone else the time spent scouring /var/www/apache2/error.log to figure out why it wasn’t working and then deleting all the extra copies of the images that had in fact uploaded just fine!
If it were possible for this plug-in to hook into wp_handle_upload (?) and add any currently selected category to the new images, that would be very helpful!
