Hi! I see there is this new “enhanced Javascript redirect” function being touted in the settings now, however, I cannot locate any documentation on exactly what this will do, how it operates, or any issues found so far.

Could you provide some information for those of us who may not want to enable this on a production site? Are there any known issues or conflicts with caching plugins like W3 Total Cache, Amazon S3 Cloudfront CDN, or anything else that may cause headaches?

    Thanks!

  • G’day @tf5_bassist,

Thanks for the questions! I’m actually working on the docs for this feature as we speak. In fact, reworking much of the docs surrounding redirection types etc over the next few weeks.

We did, however, do a blog post and video explainer for it in the interim:

Hope this might fill the gaps!

Re the questions about caching, it’s all JS so should be 100% compatible. It’s been silently out in the world for a few weeks now and we haven’t heard otherwise ??

    Cheers,
    Josh

Oh wow haha. Thanks for the quick response guys, and thanks for the video. Makes sense as to why it’s being done. In theory, it shouldn’t be too much impact on sites that use Amazon affiliates decloaked, but I’ll turn it on and give it a whirl.
