    Hi all,

Can anyone advise me how can i configure such that user have to “update cart” in the shopping cart before able to “proceed to checkout”? ( In the event if there’s any changes to the shopping cart)

My issue come around when user change their shipping method( shown in the pic), and somehow the cart detected there was a change, thus users can “update cart” but user can also bypass the update cart and proceed to check out. Therefore i would want to make it a point where user have to update their cart before able to proceed to checkout.

    Hi @adminseekout,

This will require some coding. I searched around for existing plugins that can automatically update the cart but most are built to do so on quantity change.

I also found a code to auto-update the cart but still on quantity change. You can get some insights from it and also modify it to update the cart when the shipping method changes.

For further checks on modifying the code, you could check for more pointers from:
    * The WooCommerce Facebook group
    * The #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack.

Lastly, you can consult with the WooCommerce Customizations Partners for direct assistance with custom coding.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Thanks for the response! Initially I thought it’s going to be an easy task, because my idea was supposedly to be, if the update button is still clickable, the user would not be able to click on proceed to check out. Thus forcing them to click on the update button.

If anyone here knows what the trick to it, please share with me…

    Thank you

    Hi there,

    Thanks for getting back.

This is a fairly complex development topic. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

As this is a more development-oriented question, you’re more likely to receive input by asking in the channels mentioned above.

    Cheers!
