Endpoint not found

    I have installed this, but WordPress seems to think I am looking for a page when I go to example.com/better-rest-endpoints/v1/posts. The default REST API, e.g. example.com/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/ is just fine. I have tried 4.9.9 and 5.0.2 on a local MAMP and on AWS Lightsail.
    Do I need to set something so WordPress knows to call the plugin rather than look for a post called /better-rest-endpoints/v1/posts ?
    Do I need to disable the core REST API?
    I am obviously missing something!
