I had installed and activated Sitekit v1.1.1 on WordPress 5.3.
Ads are being served on the site, which is great, and the AdSense console is showing me the ad performance.

I am seeing the following issues though:

The Site kit dash board message indicates:

The Site Kit plugin is active but requires setup.
Site Kit Service will guide you through 3 simple setup steps.

Any attempt to sign in and walk through the sign in steps takes me right back to the dash board with the same message.

One further note, the site kit dashboard was actually almost entirely functional previously while awaiting activation. The other options in the Site Kit panel all disappeared.

@hapkidoninja Sorry to hear of the problems you are encountering. Can you share the following:
    – What security plugins are you using
    – Is ModSecurity enabled at host level?
    – Who is your website hosted with?

You can also attempt setup again from a browser incognito window, with security or caching plugins temporarily deactivated. You will see some troubleshooting steps on the plugins website.

@hapkidoninja Thanks for the update. I don’t see anything that might conflict with Site Kit setup from the plugins you mentioned. I assume you’ve also tested setup from a browser incognito window, and that you are not using a Firewall or VPN which may impact setup.

Do you have any other sites on the same web host you can check Sit Kit setup with, or alternatively can you setup a staging site which you can test.

@hapkidoninja are you able to try the setup process with our most recent version 1.1.2 and let me know if the problem persists? We’ve made some improvements, so it would be great to know if this resolves it for you. Thank you!

    Hi Renee,

I just tried it again on 1.1.2 and ran into the same behavior. Site kit still claims that setup is required for AdSense, still takes me into a setup window which loops me back to the same window. This was on an incognito browser…and also separately on a regular browser session.

@hapkidoninja truly appreciate the update. Just to confirm: it sounds like you were able to get pass the initial setup? For Adsense, we are aware of the issue and are actively working on some fixes (reference here and here). We’ll follow up when those are released. Thanks again

Sorry to jump in on someone else’s topic, yet I’m experiencing a similar issue after a fresh 1.1.3 installation. I start the verification process but them I’m logged out of WordPress after Site Kit asks me to select a Google account, and any further attempt to log into WordPress doesn’t work until I clear a very long url string with all kinds of token references and such and log back in using site.com/wp-login.php

I tried to deactivate, delete and reinstall, and the problem still persists.

I wasn’t having this issue with 1.1.2… is there a way to download the previous version somewhere?

    Thanks!

@piermario thanks for the details. It would be best if you open a new support topic as it appears to be slightly different. Forum guidelines also suggest this. We’d certainly be happy to assist to pinpoint what could be occurring in your case.

    Hi Renee,

Yes, I was able to get past the initial setup. Since AdSense is inserting ads into the pages and I am able to see ad activity, I believe I am experiencing the second issue you provided a link to. Thanks.

I am getting the constant prompting for setup that will never complete as well. Looks like a pretty big issue?

Hi James, This seems to have done the trick! Thank you for following up with me on this and have a happy holiday season.

@hapkidoninja thanks for following up as well. Glad to hear it’s resolved. All the best to you.
