    Hello

Can anyone help or advise us on the following?

We are using the All in One SEO Pack on a site and would like to use the Rewrite Titles option but this seems to give all the pages the same title (even though they are all different) and therefore has a negative effect on the SEO.

I appreciated we can disable this but just wondered why this is happening and if we can fix this on our site.

    Any help much appreciated.

Titles will be different for each page or post when you use All in One SEO Pack. By default, All in One SEO Pack uses the page name followed by a pipe symbol followed by the site title, for example:

    Page Title | Site Title

    Hello

Thanks very much for your reply and information.

Sorry I did not explain very well in the first post..

When i enable the rewrite rules and google crawls the site the search returns just the the site title the same for each page. Where as if i do not enable rewrite rules i get page title followed by a pipe symbol and then the site title. This is OK but i was wanted to use the rewrite rules as i thought this would show the page title i had added to All in One SEO for each of the page followed by a pipe symbol and then the site title.

Apologies if i am not understanding properly.

    Thanks again for your reply

Rewrite Titles does one thing, it tells All in One SEO Pack to write the Title tag. If you enable it then All in One SEO Pack will write your Title tags for each page/post, if you disable it then All in One SEO Pack will not touch your titles.

    Hello

Thanks very much for your reply.

Sorry but just to clarify if i enable the rewrite rules then All in One SEO Pack writes the Title tag and this title tag will replace the page titles of the pages and will be displayed in search results in google with the site title?

    Thanks for your patience

This is the Title tag that appears in the source code of your site and on the browser tab. Google may or may not use it as the title that appears in search results. It’s up to them if they use it and you cannot force them to use it.
