• I have globaly disabled some plugins that are only used on a 1-2 pages (ie gravity forms, a calendar plugin we use, etc), but when I go to re-enable the plugin on a page-by-page basis, nothing happens. I have tried with both the ‘override post settings’ toggled on and off.

  • Hey thedeancorp,

    please try the following:

Go to Plugin Organizer >> Settings

In the “General Settings” tab you have to activate “Selective Plugin Loading”. If you need a distinction from desktop applications to mobile applications, you can also enable “Selective Mobile Plugin Loading”.

Then go to the tab “Manage MU plugin file” and click on “Copy”. Now your rules should take hold.

    Thanks for the tip IndikatorDesign.

I verified those steps had been done and I am still getting the same result. I can selectively/globally disable a plugin fine. Where I run into a problem is selectively re-enabling the plugins on the pages they need to be used.

On the edit page screen and in the plugin organizer section, I enable the proper plugins (and have tried both selecting and unselecting the ‘override post settings’ toggle with no success. Once the page is viewed, the plugin is always still disabled.

    Any ideas?

Just to be sure, here all the steps again:

    Pretty links are enabled

    General Settings:

      01 – Fuzzy URL matching – on
      02 – Ignore URL Protocol – on
      03 – Ignore URL Arguments – on
04 – Custom Post Type Support – check your post-types
      05 – Auto Trailing Slash – on
      06 – Selective Plugin Loading – on
07 – Selective Mobile Plugin Loading – on (if you wann use this separation)

    Manage MU plugin file:

      01 – Click on copy

    (Check your mu-plugins-folder)

    On Global Plugins

01 – Disable the desired plugins

On post/page settings or in a post/page filter

01 – remove the desired plugins from the Disabled List

Thanks for the help. We figured it out. Another plugin (which we’ve since deleted because it is no longer needed) was causing the problem. Yep, I know, basic wordpress troubleshooting….

FYI, here is the plugin that caused the issue:
