Enable Visual Composer When Editing Random Content

In the VC docs it looks like you can enable it for custom post types in their settings page. Here’s the documentation on it.

Yes, except the random content type does not show up in the Visual Composer role section by default. I think some custom code needs to be added to your plugin in order for VC to make it an option.
