Enable Media Upload for Certain Users Only

    I’d like to enable the uploading of images within comments just for certain users (who I can query using a php function)…is there a section of the php code for the plugin I can edit that will enable media uploads for users fitting a criteria while still leaving it disabled for everyone else?

    Please note: the default “Attach an image” button is only available for the post, pages, and attachments post types, and for default WordPress user roles. For custom post types and custom user roles, the button is not accessible.

    We may suggests you check out the wpDiscuz Media Uploader add-on. It allows to enable/disable the media uploading for User Roles, set the allowed file types, and much more.
