Hi! That will not be implemented because it’s not a security feature neither it’s an anti-spam tool. You should use a contact form instead of placing email addresses on a website. You can redirect incoming messages any way you need, e.g., using this plugin: https://jetflow.io

I find this is a bit disappointing.
Can you first explain how you don’t see scan-bots using visible emails to send spam emails as spam ?
Placing email addresses on a website is something many users appreciate (me included) to have perfect control over what and when they send emails, this is why I won’t use your rule as the one-fits-all rule. Thinking might result in saying “Don’t own a website, you’ll have lots of issues” ..

I use this plugin (email encoder) now for that purpose. You could eventually inspire you from its code since WordPress is opensource. Why not include such a nice feature ?

@gioni Hi Gregory, sorry for the unorthodox way of getting in contact but I’ve been unable to elicit a response to my forum queries and wondered if you could help? I need to be able to view the spam comments that are being filtered? Where/how can I do this? How can I reinstate a spam comment if it is genuine? For example, a lot of my comments might be valid reviews for my products. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance.
