• Hi,

the plugin works great, except for one thing:

There are no preview imageages…the video box is black with the white info text.

In the setup there is a checkbox “Bilder lokal zwischenspeichern”. What does it do?
Somewhere I was reading about the lokal caching of these preview images, which is what I need and what I expected the checkbox to do. But it doesn’t do it.

In the FAQ I can see:
    -Can I enable caching
-Yes, rename the file in the video-embed-privacy/preview directory.
    but I don’t understand :-/

Which file should I rename, and what name should it be?

    Thanks!

  • “Bilder lokal zwischenspeichern” means “Save pictures locally” – so this would activate the preview images.

I’m searching for it. Where did you find it?

Schon klar…ich kann ja deutsch ??

It is a checkbox ion the plugin settings. The problem is that it does not work…images are not saved locally.
I am in contact with the plugin author via GitHub, and he told me that in the newwest version this checkbox is unneccessary, it would work out of the box.
Unfortunately, not on my site ??

Ah, yes. Doesn’t work on my site either ?? I hope the author will fix it soon!

Dann spende ich auch 10€ für die Kaffeekasse, falls er so einen Button hat!

Analyzing the generated code reveals that it tries to load the preview image from the

    /wp-content/plugins/wp-video-embed-privacy-master/preview/yt/

directory. After install, this directory does not exist …

preview.php should add that directory, but somehow it fails.

I added it manually and set it to 666, but it still does not work :-((

    Cheers,
    Alex
