HI Tobias,
Thanks for the response… I often purchase pro versions of plugins when the added features are helpful and I do understand making a living. I’ve looked at purchasing your pro version and would surely appreciate the added features, but in my view and I suspect a lot of people would agree you are charging waaaay to much for all three levels.
I own several pro versions of plugins listed in the WP plugin depository and none of them cost nearly as much as your pro version, even though for what they do they are just as useful as Admin Columns. You are charging as much or more for this one plugin as any of the highest end and most popular themes and theme plans that I know of costs.
As an example, I paid less than you are charging for the developer version of Admin Columns for lifetime access, updates and awesome support to all of Elegant Themes many dozens of themes and plugins, including what it arguably one of the most popular, versatile and feature packed WP themes of all, Divi. Google it and look for yourself.
And the Admin Columns plugin, as great as it is with the added features, addresses just one small area of the backend with a lot of great extra possibilities. But a whole lot of website owners would not be OK with paying extra money for that feature.
I have no doubt you would make a lot more money if you halved your prices and increased the number of sites on the Personal and Business plans. Your prices are very much out of line with other WP pro plugins. Give those who have bought the pro version an extra year and cut your prices in half. I’d buy and be able to use the added features if you did, and so would a lot of others.
I build really good websites for people mostly for fun. Not everyone in this world is trying to make a “killing.” Most of the people who do the hard work of building and improving WordPress and making it as great as it is are doing it because they love it.
You built and are maintaining a really great plugin…. So offer the pro version for a great price.
Kind regards…
