• This is not so much a query as a discovery/solution. After a long time being faced with the spinning cog and “Zotpress account not found,” on a page which seemed no different to any others where I’d used Zotpress successfully, I discovered that what seemed to be causing the problem was using an en dash in multiple page reference (i.e. pp. 16–92, instead of pp. 16-92). Once I used a hyphen instead of an en dash, the spinning cogs disappeared and everything worked fine.

Has anyone else found the same? I’m not sure that this needs a solution, but it would be good to see this in the documentation/FAQs if it is indeed the case.

I had a similar issue that I find also worth mentioning in FAQ:

At least in Germany, the following type of in-text-citation is very common, where you add “ff.” after the page number:
(Name, 1989, 22ff.). However, the period appears to produce problems with Zotpress (–> spinning wheels), hence I found that only leaving it away makes it work: (Name, 1989, 22ff). So in general, it seems that special characters are not allowed in the page field for in-text-citations. I guess this should be mentioned in FAQ.
