Cannot get the plugin to work it seems as I keep ending up with an empty zip file.

I noticed a few others having the same issue and by the looks of it, these have not yet been resolved, so I am wondering what is going on there?

    PHP 7.0
    WP 4.7
    Simply Static 1.8.0
    local install

  • Hi Piet,

There have indeed been a few reports of folks ending up with an empty zip file. I’m releasing a new version of Simply Static (v2.0.0) in the next couple weeks that I’m hoping will fix this issue, or at least make it easier to determine the cause of the problem.

    Best,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,

Okay, that would be nice. Can you please update this ticket once you have released a new version?

    Cheers,
    Piet

    Yes, will do!

    Great! Happy Holidays!

I’m interested in this as well – commenting to follow the discussion. I just found Simply Static and would love to use it, but this is blocking that. Happy to donate if the new version of the plugin works with my version of WP (4.7).

    Thanks!

FYI, v2.0 of Simply Static has been released. If you could give it a try and let me know if it works I’d greatly appreciate it. I’ve heard from one person so far that has having issues with zip generation and v2.0 of Simply Static fixed it.

    Scott

    Hi Scott,

Great work, I managed to download a filled zip-file and I am looking at a static generated site now on my local dev environment ??

    Thanks for the good work!

PS I have not marked the issue as resolved to give others the chance to reply; feel free to mark it as resolved as you see fit.

I ended up using a vagrant box with the older version of Simply Static, which worked beautifully. I’ll try the new version, too. Thank you!

Thank you for the responses, gentlemen!

    Best,
    Scott
