Empty Space Under Home Slider

Hi,

I’m a complete noob to WordPress, but I’m starting a blog, so I’ve chosen to use this rather than Wix to create it. I have my homepage configured with the home slider and the sections I want to include; my slider has the suggested featured image size; I like the text and the font I’ve chosen. Unfortunately, there is a big empty space under my home-slider before my About Us section. If I change the size of my window, it goes away, but with the default window size, it’s always there. I don’t want my readers to have to scroll to get to my content. I’ve been holding off my blog launch because of this issue. Can anyone help?
