Empty shop pages showing

On my shop page which serves to IP addresses from the USA, I have added new products and deleted old products that are no longer available. Unfortunately, the new shop starts on shop page 3 and pages 1 and 2 are empty. How do I delete these pages, so that products start showing on the first page?
