• Hi guys,

I’ll admit I’m new to using WordPress, but I’ve been building a custom theme. After the update, WordPress randomly created new posts with the titles of each category and destroyed my navigation but that’s by the by, despite how unacceptable it is. All the files in my media library have vanished. They still exist in the default media upload folder on the server but are not appearing in the library. This has affected all the featured images, but the images still exist within posts as they are directly linked witht he full URL. Changing to a default theme has no effect. Any ideas?

If it’s any help, here’s a category page with no featured images.

  • Hello Chris, just wanted to tell you I got the same situation after update to 4.7.3
This is obviously a 4.7.3 bug, some problem with media library. :/

My photos are all there, but the media library does not recognize a single photo.
Also, symbols from plugins are also missing, also flags for 4 languages that I translated my website to, neither one photo can be displayed correctly!

I tried downgrading to earlier WordPress version, tried the wp 4.7, but the problem is still there.

I will try with some other WP version, and try with uploading database also, so hopefully things will fix.

I will let you know if I succeed…

I am also having this problem. I can not select a featured image or upload an image with out getting the error message, “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

I tried disabling all my plugins, clearing my cache, and used other browsers in hope it would fix the problem, but it didn’t.

If someone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

    I tried all I know.
Disabled all plugins, empty cache, the same.
I downgraded my wordpress to 4.7, the same.
I restored with Updraft Plus, restored plugins/uploads/database/themes, the same.
I restored .htaccess file, when it was all working fine, the same.
I rebuilt the .htaccess file, the same.

What/WHERE is the problem now, why it cannot read any photos now,
    if not the core files/database/.htaccess??

We have exactly the same problem after the update to WordPress 4.7.3 – the media library is blank. You can cheat it by acting as though you are adding a file then edit from there, but it’s cumbersome. No question it’s a WordPress 4.7.3 bug.
