Empty date field returned as ‘0000-00-00’

    Is it expected that an empty field of type Date would be returned as 0000-00-00 instead of an empty string? The behavior seems inconsistent as I have another empty date field which returns an empty string, and they are configured the same way. Allowed empty value is checked for both fields.
