Employee Search

I added the code [search_staff_members] to the top of the page where my current employee directory is. I want to be able to search for employees from this box, but not have employee pages/information come up on the general website search. I unchecked the box “include staff members in search results” under the basic option settings to prevent this. But with this box unchecked, the search box using the above code will not find any search results, even when an employee named is completely spelled out. What do I need to do to allow the search function to work on the employee directory page, but not on the general website search?
