Embedly not working after WP 4.4.2 upgrade

    I upgraded WordPress (and all my plungins) to 4.4.2 this morning and the Embedly stopped working on me.

    ? The icon for it not longer appears in the text editor.
    ? The previous posts using Embedly not longer show up as Embedly windows and instead just now show the link to the related content.
    ? When looking at the plugin settings I get a ever spinning wheel where it is trying to tell me how many “People are actively viewing your embeds!”.

    I’ve turned the plugin off and they back on again and that did nothing so I am wondering what the next step. I am holding off on WP upgrades on other sites where I have deployed Embedly until I have this figured out or solved.

    Hello jerraldhayes,

    Thanks for the message, hopefully we can resolve this for you. In regards to the button in the editor, we’ve removed this feature in the new version of the plugin since it was causing compatibility issues for some users, and wordpress has since added new features that allow the plugin to automatically detect and embed content with Embedly Cards.

    I visited your blog yesterday and did notice the links you mention, however, checking again today I see that you have fully rendered cards. In your plugin settings do you see how many active viewers you have now?

    We just pushed a change in version 4.0.8 of the plugin that should fix the “ever spinning wheel” issue you noticed. Thanks for pointing this out.
