• Hi there –

My primary web host and my blog host are two different companies. In order to streamline the appearance, I have embedded my WordPress blog into my site using frames. The problem is that my users are complaining that when they click on a link to register or comment they are getting blank screens.

Based on what I’ve been reading, this is likely because of the frame and how the WordPress site’s code is automatically set to target=”_blank”.

I would go in and remove that from the code and see if that resolves it but…I don’t know where it is. I’m well versed in HTML but not PHP and don’t know where to find it.

  • This type of iframe embedding is a potential security risk for your visitors as they cannot tell if the embedded page is safe for them. An SSL key next to the URL is not recognizable. For this reason, many browsers block the loading of pages via iframe – often based on information sent by the hoster in the HTTP header.

So I’m not sure if your idea with the target attribute is the right one. I think not. To check that for you, a link to the web page where you can see that would be good. Other than that, I can’t say much about it.

Thanks for your reply. I just took it out of the frame. Not what I wanted but at least it works.
