I am pasting a link to my event, but when I do the WordPress’ built-in oEmbed renders the site logo, not the photo associated with the event. When I put the link in iFramely to test the link, it renders appropriately with the image from the event. Why is this, if it is using the same data?

  • Hi @renrec,

    Thanks for choosing Hestia!

I checked your site, but I am not sure I see the issue. For me, the image rendered on the page you provided is different than the logo of the site – screenshot. Is this not the image that should be displayed?

Thank you and have a nice day!

So here are some screen shots of what I mean. The first is the link, the second is what renders.

    This is what renders

    Thanks for the help…

    Hi @renrec,

    Thank you for the screenshots.

If I understand it right when you share the link to your event, it’s displaying the logo instead of the Dinosaur Ridge image which is part of your content:
    https://www.teamkendallvue.com/event/dinosaur-ridge/

Usually, when you share a post or page, the featured image is displayed. In this case, the above link is an event created from a plugin and not a page or post. It also does not have a featured image that is why when you share the link, it displays the logo.

You can reach out to the support team of the event plugin that you are using for assistance.

    Hope this helps.

The link does have a featured image associated with the event which is not displaying…

    Hi @renrec,

May we ask what event plugin are you using so we can test this on our end.

SO when doing some troubleshooting, it looks like the conflict lies within the theme. When I changed to a different theme it rendered the featured image for the event correctly.
    thanks,

    Hi @renrec,

Thank you for providing more details.

The Events Calendar plugin allows you to use different templates.
I created a screencast for you on how to display the image.

    Hope that helps.

Hey that did help to change the problem. BUT it created a new problem. That template doesn’t render my menu for some reason. Can you help me to find a template that works for both?
    Please and Thank you,
    Michael

    Hi @renrec,

You can use the Page Builder Full Width instead.
    https://vertis.d.pr/uDZKcZ
That should display your menu and the image.
I suggest you explore the plugin’s options so you can fully maximize it.
