Embedded PDF-files from OneDrive lost

    Hello,
    unfortunately I have an issue since the latest update of WP-Job manager. I offer the service to embed PDF-files in the job advertisements of my users. For this I use OneDrive to save the files and generate the embed code. Everything worked fine.

    Until the latest update: The embed codes still exist and are shown in the text-editor. In the visual editor I can see the Preview and also when I create the Preview page the file is embedded. But when i submit the ad, the embedded file will be invisible (but the code is still there in the text-editor, but not in the submitted advertisement). All PDF-files I embedded yet, are invisible now…

    I tried to embed the file in the blog section of my site – which worked fine. So I could exclude an issue with OneDrive or WordPress itself. The issue has to be part of the latest WP-job Manager update.

    I would be happy to get a hint how to avoid this new problem or to get a new update with bug fix soon ??

    I use the automatically generated embed codes of OneDrive:

    Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce this on my test site, so it doesn’t look like a WP Job Manager issue:

    Is everything up to date on the site? Did anything else (besides the WPJM update) change between when this worked for you, and when it didn’t?

    Have you done any initial troubleshooting yet? If not, you should rule out a theme issue or a plugin conflict. I recommend testing things on a staging site rather than on your production (live) site. Many hosts provide a staging service, where you can do testing without affecting the live site. You can ask your host about this. If they don’t give you a staging site, you could try WP Staging or Duplicator:

    First, temporarily switch to Twenty Seventeen, which is one of the default WordPress themes. You can do this by installing a plugin that only switches the theme for the current user, linked below:

    See if the embeds work when using a default theme, and if they do, you’ll need to contact your theme’s developer to see if they can help you troubleshoot.

    If things still don’t work properly with Twenty Seventeen, please try checking for conflicting plugins.

    To do so, temporarily disable all plugins but WP Job Manager (and related addons), and see if the issue resolves. If it does, try activating your plugins one-by-one and try to reproduce the problem. If it comes back when you activate a particular plugin, you’ve found the culprit.

    Just a side-note; before you deactivate your plugins, we recommend that you make a full backup of your site.

    Hi Jen,

    it was quite difficult to find the source of my problem… And I am not sure if we really found it.

    But we have a solution now. We installed a plugin to add embedded pdf-files by shortcode – now it works.

    I have no idea, why I could embed files in my blog but not in the wp job manager text fields… my co-worker says, after hours and hours of questing, the newest wp-update suspects embedded files to be unsafe, so it suppresses them.

    But now it works, so thank you for your great support ??
