Embed youtube videos not loadin

    I’m having issues with YouTube embed videos. I have a WordPress site that has private content that is accesible with paid subscription (Memberpress plugin). If I insert a YouTube video in a private post with Gutenberg YouTube embed block, the video loads on the edit page BUT in the front-end it’s not shown. If I inspect the code, the iframe is empty and in the Network tab the status of the petition is canceled.
    On top of that, to make thinks even more weir, this doesn’t happen on Firefox or FirefoxDeveloperEdition browsers, in these browsers the videos load correctly.

    Do you know what could be happening? Could this be related to connection problems or maybe the website performance?

    There’s a StackOverflow thread here that mentions a very similar (the same?) issue as you describe.

    Chrome fails, all other browsers play the video.

    Apparently, and note that the SO Thread is relatively old, it was a bug in Chrome browser.

    So based on this I would suggest a few things:

    – make sure Chrome and your OS is update to date
    – make sure the issue also happens without any content restriction (perhaps you can test this on a staging site?)
    – make sure the issue also happens when no plugin, and perhaps another theme are active (again maybe you have a staging site to test this, for safety)

    According this, you will likely find more details leading to solutions.

    Another thing to check, although unlikely to be the cause are YouTube video permissions themselves, on Youtube. Of course, if those weren’t public most likely the video wouldn’t work in either browser, so I don’t think this is anyhow related, yet it is worth to be sure.
