• Up-to-date WP running 3K2 as my theme. I have never got video to work on the site, and would love your help.

wesburnps.vic.edu.au is the address, and this is the post in question.

The video in question is only 450kB, 320×240 created in Win Movie Maker. (quick and simple!)

If I click on the Add Video icon next to Upload/Insert, above the toolbar, all I end up with is a hyperlink to the attachment. That’s visible on the post now, at the bottom.

If I click on “Insert/Edit embedded media” on the toolbar, then by linking to the uploaded attachemnt in the step above I can get it to come up in a 320×240 WinMedia box, but it never plays.

Interesting obseervation: Once I add the video I cannot ‘preview’ the post.

Does anyone have some pointers for me? I believe this should be much easier from every tuition video/codex I’ve read on this. I wonder if I’ve screwed up a setting somewhere. Thanks so much

Update: I was linking to attachment?=xxx, but swiching that to the full path and filename has now worked.

Does anyone reading this though think that the Add Video (media) bit is strange?
    Thanks for your time.

It looks good, but I honestly can’t say whether it functions or not (Mac users not invited to the party, I guess).

Just to make sure that you’re doing it right, here’s a video that may help:

I’ve never really had problems embedding media, but I usually embed media from other sites like YouTube.

Thanks Macmanx. I posted this request after watching that video, because my screen really doesn’t look like the vid, and my steup isn’t acting like that at all.

While I’m now embedding the video, I’m still really confused why the Add media icon still just gives me a hyperlink with the title visible…

    Thanks for your quick reply.
