• Hi there,

I need to embed PDF files without Google Docs, because they are in a password protected folder. How can I do this?

    Kind regards

  • What do you mean exactly?

    – what do you mean by “embed” PDF files – do you mean link to them?

    – what does Google Docs have to do with your problem? I’m not sure I understand.

    – if you are trying to link to documents in a password-protected folder on someone’s folder, you will need to provide people with the username & password

    Thanks for your anwer!

I’m looking for a plugin to embed PDF files. You can call it PDF viewer as well. It should be possible to view PDF files in an arcticle without the Adobe Reader browser plugin being installed.

There are some plugins which use Google Docs to embed PDF files, e.g. Embed PDF. Therefor you need to link to the PDF file, so Google Docs will display it on your site. But if the PDF file is in a password protected folder (.htaccess), of course it doesn’t work.

So I need a plugin running on my own server.

    Have a good weekend!
