I am trying to embed wmv files into a video gallery using this plugin. The video does not play. I am new to this and cannot understand what I am doing wrong. Can someone help? Thank you.

WMV files do not work on the web. You’ll need to convert them to H.264. Handbrake is a good cross-platform option.

Thanks! I converted the files and got them to work in Internet Explorer and Chrome. I am having problems when using Safari. Any ideas? Thanks.

I don’t see any problems in Safari. Can you be more specific?

I am so sorry. I meant Firefox.

It looks like the videos don’t play in Firefox until they are fully downloaded. That might be because of your server configuration but I can’t figure it out exactly. One thing to try is changing the filenames to mp4 instead of m4v.

Also, I noticed that your videos were recorded in SD at 720×480 with rectangular pixels. When they’re shown on a computer screen with square pixels they look slightly squished so the president looks fatter than he is. If you resize your videos to 640×480 when you convert them it should look a lot better.

It looks like you’ve done this already, but make sure when you make your videos that you check “Web optimized” if you’re using Handbrake.

Thank you very much. That took care of the problem. I appreciate your help.
