Hi– Is there any reason why CFCS should not be able to send emails to the same domain as the web page? I’m having issues and believe it is a messed up DNS but the ISP support says it might be the form – so I have to ask. Examlple: I use CSCF on https://www.example.com to send emails to [email protected] and [email protected]. The latter gets through fine, but the former never arrives and no error messages appear. Thanks in any case! –Pete

    No no reason at all.

Are you using the webhost for email or and external email service?

If an external email service, it is most likely that you have an accidental shortcut.

This is where the MX records on your server DNS are different to the ‘proper’ MX records in the real Nameserver world.

This often happens for instance on C-Panel hosts where the email is off server ( e.g. Google WorkSpace, o365 ) yet the c-panle account is not set to remote mail server, but local.

So the server ‘eats’ the email into itself and goes no where outside there server.

If you see what I mean, not sure I explained that well.

If you are using email ON your webhost then look at ( or get your webhost support ) to look at the logs.

Ah! CPanel eating it’s own email sure sounds like the problem. I will look into the CP config. Many thanks for the lead!

    Fixed?

Not quite but you pointed straight at the issue. Seems I have two email servers running on the same domain name, one CPanel and one o365. CPanel is eating the messages from the web page and isn’t seen from anywhere else as o365 is handling external emails. Back to Godaddy support to fix the CP side but at least I know what’s wrong and I have a work-around that’s working. Thanks again, Alan!
