• I have been getting a few emails I have never seen before being sent from my website that have a subject with only a number listed. The body of the emails give another number and then a link to my wp-login.php.

    Example:
    From [email protected]
    Subject: 60
    Body: 155
    https://MYDOMAIN.com/wp-login.php.

I have received approx. 6 in the last 24/hours. It seems that the number 155 is always in the body, but sometimes I get a different number in the subject line.

Is this a new feature with WordPress 3.x? And any ideas why they are sent or what they mean?

Just got another email this morning from my WordPress site. Does anyone know why they are generated?

    Subject: 60
    Body: 155

Same thing just happened to me. Subject was 59 and body was 153. What gives?

What plugins do you have installed? I have a client that reported the same thing. I wonder if that’s what it is.

I’ve rec’d messages from 2 different WP sites and the plug-ins they have in common other than Akismet are WP-DBManager, NextGen Gallery and WP-ViperGB.

Are you running the Genesis theme? That appears to be common between these instlalations.

Hey, I just noticed that a new version of Genesis is available. Maybe the e-mail was supposed to be a notification?

Upgrade and keep an eye on this thread. Did the same with my clients site, we’ll see what happens…

I just checked the StudioPress forum and there is indeed a glitch causing Genesis to send out those strange e-mails. It happens if you have the Genesis update e-mail notification feature checked. Upgrading to 1.4 should solve the problem.
