Hello, I’m having issues with emails not being sent via Google mail and WP Mail SMTP. I’m not receiving notifications of incoming orders and customers who place an order get no email confirmation. I only found out about this issue when someone who placed an order contacted me directly. I’m pretty much a noob when it comes to these things but I’ve tried to set up WP Mail SMTP again, re-entering my Google API credentials and got the message below after trying to connect WP Mail SMTP to Google. Can you please tell me how to fix this? Thanks much.

This is the error message I’m getting:

Access blocked: This app’s request is invalid:

You can’t sign in because this app sent an invalid request. You can try again later, or contact the developer about this issue. Learn more about this error

If you are a developer of this app, see error details.

    Hi @bluechiselstudio,

Thanks for reaching out! Please kindly note that this error (redirect_uri_mismatch) is coming from Google. It occurs when the redirect URI specified in the application’s configuration does not match the redirect URI provided during the authorization request.

To troubleshoot this, I would recommend you open Gmail.com on your browser and sign out of any account that the browser defaults to. Then try connecting again and log in to the same account which you used to create your Google app (client secret and client id)

If you still face the same issue after this, then please try configuring the Google / Gmail mailer again by following this step-by-step tutorial once more:

In case it helps, we also have a video guide that you can follow.

    I hope this helps. Thanks!

Thank you so mush Darshana. I tried your first suggestion above and it didn’t help. In the end, I ended up creating a new API project and linking that one to WP SMTP. That worked and the guide you linked me to really helped. Much appreciated.

    All the best, Kate
