    1) The admin emails does not show IP, they just show the text without the IP (screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/GmFSNgo.png)

WordPress Simple Firewall has blocked a visitor to your site.
Log details for this visitor are below:
    – IP Address:
    – Page Request URI: /wp-admin/profile.php
    – Visitor IP was neither whitelisted nor blacklisted. Firewall checking started.
    – Page parameter failed firewall check. The value was /wp-admin/profile.php?wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Fusers.php and the term matched was /wp_/i
    – Blocked WordPress Terms.
You could look up the offending IP Address here: https://ip-lookup.net/?ip=

    2) I would like to see detailed emails like this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/aEFnb3i.png (email from firewall2 plugin from wher you evolved)

    3) Ability to set FROM NAME

    Hi,

I should be able to fix the IP address. Probably a small bug in there.

#2 and #3 however will take longer and I’m not sure I’ll be doing too much on that. The email from the other plugin doesn’t have much more information that what this plugin provides anyway.

If time permits, I’ll add more information.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
    Paul.

Thanks for the offer Asim! For now though we’re going to keep the development in-house, but we may put the code up on github and that way we’ll be able to take on new code more easily.

Also, I’ve updated the plugin to 1.5.1 to address the email IP address bug, and also to try (though I can’t replicate it) the bug with the notification still showing.

Let me know if that helps.
    Thanks,
    Paul.

Also, its showing me my local IP (private ip) which is useless, in my opinion. It should show my public-ip

This IP Address that it’s showing you is whatever is being shown to the processing server. I can recheck this code to find another way to extract the requesting IP address, but ultimately this is highly dependent on your hosting server.

    Are you running this locally?

Im on a network computer in my company and the blog is hosted with a hosting company (not local). It should get my IP but its getting IP of my local computer

Are you behind a proxy server?

    Well I’m guessing you are.

I’ve released v1.5.2 today to make the very best effort to find the visitor IP address. There’s no better way that I’m currently aware of for doing so, while still being compatible with hosting running older versions of PHP.

    Thanks.
    Paul.
