emails being automatically subscribed on a marketing list

    Recently, we’ve been having an issue using this plugin.
    Every form on every website that are using this plugin is automatically subscribed to a marketing mailing list Solid Security <[email protected]>

    This goes against RGDP right?

    Glad you reached out here and I am here to help!

    When you say that every form on every website is being automatically subscribed, can you let me know more details on this so that we can reproduce this on our end?

    For example, can you give us specific form(s) where this is happening? Any screenshots or screencasts you can provide would also be helpful! I have installed the latest version on a fresh WordPress install and just did a test with the wp-login forum but do not see this happening on my end.

    We want to be able to reproduce this on our end and get a fix out as soon as possible.

    Hi.

    You can use a Contact Form 7 form with a From configured for user input, if a user input their e-mail address in a form like this:

    It will be automatically subscribed. I’ve also done a send e-mail test using the plugin interface, so the subscription can be from there too.

    Thank you for providing that information about the Contact Form 7 issue. You mentioned a screenshot, but I’m not able to see it in your message. Could you please try uploading the screenshot again? It would be very helpful to see the form configuration you’re referring to.

    It was just a screenshot showing a generic form for the visitor to input their e-mail address…
