    @rhellewellgmailcom,

    Gmail discards the part after + sign. So the email will be treated as and thus you will receive it in your inbox.

    We have purposefully restricted the same to prevent the fake emails entry and to disturb email validation.

    It is true that gmail discards the part after the ‘+’ for delivery, although the full email (with the ‘+’ is retained in the email ‘from’ by gmail so that the mail can be filtered by rules. And used as the ‘from’ with a reply.

    The problem is that the validation of the entered address prevents the use of an email with a ‘+’. The validation process should allow an email with a ‘+’.

    Not sure that I agree with your decision, but it’s your plugin.

    I (along with many others) use the “+” symbol a lot for mail routing in my mail client. Very useful. Also useful for testing purposes for my application development.

    They are not ‘fake emails’. They are valid email addresses that will get delivered to the recipient as the recipient intends. I don’t think that there are potential problems with using them as ‘fake’ email addresses. There is more benefit to the user (recipient) than there is a need to block them.

    @rhellewellgmailcom,

    We’ll consider your suggestion and we’ll look into it.
