If you are working on a home computer it will not send emails unless you have a plugin like easy-wp-smtp installed that will send the emails. If not, then look into it later as I have to go out for a bit and will need more info.

    Thanks,

I am not sure what you mean by a home computer. The site is hosted, but I am doing all site design online through my home computer.

I am in Australia, daylight time GMT+11, and am about to go out for about 4hrs. It is now 9AM here.

Okay, some people like myself do testing on home computers, and use WebMatrix or other web programs to accomplish this. If that was the case then you would need that plugin, however apparently you do not. Do you have the email for the site set up properly, and if so, what other plugins are you currently using?

I am going to shut down, I am on the opposite side of the world near Chicago -6 GMT but will be on early in the morning in case you need me. On the dashboard go to settings/general and make sure you entered a valid email address that will be used to send emails for the site if you have not done that already. If it still doesn’t work, then list all the plugins you are using along with the theme so I can see if there are any conflicts.

    Hi,

I am going to check a few other things out first as per the instructions. ATM I am not getting any emails when I try to request a new password. That function worked for a few minutes after I changed an eamil address, but has since stopped. Another WP site I have does the same thing but the contact (a different plugin) works fine on that site.

Okay, sounds good. From what I am hearing it seems it may be an email issue with the server. The emails for a new password comes directly from the WP core so that would more than likely be either your host or email server issue. Try and create a gmail account for your site and see if that works just for the heck of it. Start with the easiest stuff first is what they preach, because that is usually where the problem lies.

    Brian,

It was all server mail config errors, mx records, A records, etc. All is good now.

    Regards,

    Steve
