• Is there an “email this post” plugin, one that emails the full text of the post to an address entered by the visitor, other than Lester Chan’s wp-email?

Lester has provided me with some support via his site’s web forum, but for some reason it is not even beginning to work and rather than keep going in circles with it, I’d like to find another plugin that does the same thing.

The plugin is important because I let visitors reprint articles and a common way of letting them have the articles is by having an email the article option.

  • Have a look at my site: https://prpoet.com

I’ve customized Lester’s WP-Email plugin to send the article link to your friend instead of the whole article. The user clicks the link to visit the article. Test it out, send an e-mail to yourself from my site. If you like this format, let me know and I’ll post a weblink where you can download the php file and instructions(plug and play really).

Did you remove the “full text” option because it was causing problems?

Hi, I just tried it out and it’s nice. Please do post your plugin. If there really isn’t a full-text version that works reliably in all installations I’d be happy to use a forward-a-link version.

    Thanks

Hi, here is the link to download the files:

I don’t think it’s a problem on Lester’s code, I suspect it’s something to do with the mail-server but I’m a novice coder, so I could be wrong. On big articles, I found that the mails were not being sent (maybe images have something to do with this?), so I tweaked the code to send a link only and now it works fine. If you think about it, sending a link is better because it makes people come to your site to read the article, and you get more traffic. Note that 99% of the code is Lester’s so he should get the credit for this.

Hi PR, thanks a lot (PR stand for public relations or Puerto Rican or…?)

The reasons for hte full text are:

    1. In reality few people who get the link will necessarily go to the site; with the full article in front of them, more people will read.

    2. I want to make it easy for people to add my article to their site and the full text method would make it easier. Yes, there are people too lazy to copy and paste it off their screens.
