• We have UM setup on a site using WPML and have set up some new Email templates for an additional language as per the instructions/set up but they will not work and are not editable.

Previous language email templates we have created exist and work just fine, and can be edited too, but the latest language templates on the website will not work. They are not editable in the UM admin either. The Email Subject field is working (as this is not part of the template), and the template used when an email is sent seems to be a copy of the custom English language (site main language) template that is in existence.

The templates are in the correct directory (for instance this is the chinese language welcome email which will not work)

    child theme > ultimate-member > email > zh-hans_ZH-HANS > welcome_email.php

Other previously set up languages work just fine! Hence it is a real puzzle as to why any further language templates added will not work.

Has anyone come across this or solved this before?

After testing, it appears UM can’t create a folder with correct language name by itself.

So I followed this documentation to create folder myself: https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/1335-email-templates

Note that you will need to have correct folder name, the same as your WPML language code. In my case, I have “ja” for Japanese, so I created a ja folder and copied corresponding email templates into this folder.
