    Hi,

I have an odd problem with this plugin and it has happened now on two separate installations of wordpress on different servers.

At activation of the plugin it is not importing the default template, and so all the template fiels in the settings are blank. The template can be found in the plugin folder, but in either case it is not importing the base template.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be? I have used this plugin before on an older installation of wordpress and it worked fine then.
    Thanks

  • Hi,

I don’t have a solution but I have the same problem on a one day old WordPress installation.

    WordPress: 3.5.1
    MySQL: 5.5.27

    Thanks!

    Hi again.
I have found a solution that seams to work for the moment. It is however more a hack than anything else.

    1) Open the file template-1.html you can find in the template folder of the plugin.
    2) View the source code and copy it to the clipboard.
    3) Go to the settings page of WP Better Emails.
    4) Click on the little “html” at the editor window.
    5) Paste the code in the editor and press the little x in the top right (e.g. go back to normal view) You should now see most of the template.
    6) Replace those part of the text that should not be static (e.g. %content%, %blog_title%, …)
    7) Save and test (I had to save it more than once. There was an error on the first attempt.

After this the plugin was working for me. Hope this helps.

Thanks benbehr for replying. I have done a similar thing to the above to get the plugin working and it is now working.

I tried again to install the plugin on another install of wordpress and it still has this problem. It appears that the html/wysiwyg editor is not loading properly after installation as the icons and the option to change to html are not visible. Perhaps it is a browser issue? I am using firefox on a mac.

It would be interesting to get to the bottom of this problem as it doesn’t seem to happening to many other people.

    Same problem here.

I followed the same approach to fix it.

I thought I should add my comment so they fix this problem and also help others.
