    Hello,

I have disabled sending the summary via email but still receiving after 2 weeks (default setting).. it seems the (terrible) bug from a couple weeks ago is not completely fixed yet..
I am using the current version of Wordfence on a current WP (to make it short, everything is up to date).

On the Wordfence Options page, can you click the link near the bottom that says “Click to view your systems scheduled jobs in a new window”, and see if “wordfence_email_activity_report” still appears in the list?

Also, if you view your Wordfence Options, did the “Enable email summary” checkbox turn back on again?

After noting those two items, you can turn on the option “Disable config caching” and save the changes, then turn the “Enable email summary” option off and save the changes again — then check the scheduled jobs link again, and see if the “wordfence_email_activity_report” item is gone.

Some hosts have trouble with the config caching, which can cause a similar issue after changing options — but let us know if this does not help. Sorry for the trouble caused by the options being reset a couple weeks ago. We understand that this was a big problem and have added measures to our QA and dev processes to help prevent similar issues in the future.

    Hello Matt,
Thank you for answering so quickly.
Email activity report is not showing up – does it mean this summary was the last one we received (unattended)?
The checkbox is and was unchecked for the summary report – actually I used the import/export function in order to have the same settings for all WordPress..

Yes, I think that should be the last one, if it no longer appears in the scheduled jobs.

It looks like this is a bug in the option import process. The options are imported correctly, but the associated wp-cron job for the email summary is not cancelled or scheduled upon import, if that option is changed by the import. I’ve entered a bug report, number FB1089. Thanks for the additional details!

Same here as with @wpblogwriter. I noticed this afternoon Wordfence Activity notifications from 10 sites where I had re-imported the settings after the last bug that resetted the settings. Checked one of the sites and there is no wordfence_email_activity_report in the scheduled jobs. Also the “Enable email summary” checkbox has not been turned back on.

I changed the settings less than 2 weeks ago. Could be these emails had already been scheduled then in a cron job that was not cancelled upon import.

@wpwebbouw: Yep, that’s the same thing that I saw — I’ve sent this on to the dev team, so it should be fixed in a future version of Wordfence.

    Thanks!
