    Hi,

Great work on the plugin. This has saved us a ton of time and headaches for handling our job listings.

I’m having some issues with the Application Email subject line.
Is there any way to include the Job Title in the Subject Line? Right now, my only options are “First Name, Last Name, and Email Address”.

For example: We have a job position labeled “Chef”.
We would like any emails from this job posting to have the subject “Job Application: Chef” , instead of the persons name.

This would help tremendously with sorting our applications – ANY help would be appreciated.

    Keep up the awesome work!

A simple answer to your Question on Subject Line is NO –

It’s a bit more detailed than this and I have an answer that might help you out.

The default Subject Line is “Job Application – First Name Last Name” .

It’s that way because a majority of those hiring want to be able to initially sort and view by Name of the applicant.

Email Clients like Gmail, Outlook etc…now are smart enough that you can sort by Keywords like “Chef” and that should be in the Job “Title” so it would be indexable and searchable by your email client.

However, Job Manager has a built in Category function whereby you can set up categories, in this case based upon Job Title and or Function. In your Case lets say “Chef”

You can then assign all Job Applications that are submitted for Category “Chef” to be a specific email address or person within your company that wants to view ONLY Chef applicants.

This is done by assigning a category – Admin Settings, Category and then adding an email address for that Category of Jobs. Don’t forget to assign the Category to the actual Job Listing too.

    Thanks for the response!

I suppose this might work as a temporary work-around, but definitely complicates things for our client.

Is there a manual edit I can make to the plugin files to enable the job title as a subject line option? I realize this will get overwritten with updates, but is definitely the route we’re trying to go.

    Any help is appreciated!

OK – so you can with a bit of work-around create the Subject Line your looking for.

    1. Create a “Text” Field in App. Form Settings *Must be Text Input – Label it something like “Position Applying for?” – you can also make this Mandatory – Save/Update Application Form.

    2. Admin. Settings / Application Email Settings / Subject
Select the Field You Created from Step 1. “Position Applying for?” – Save/Update Email Settings.

    3. Test it – You should be good to go. Screen Shots below for your use if your a visual kind of person like me ??

I’m a bit late in my response, but this actually was a nice way of solving the issue. Thanks so much for this work around!

Awesome work on the plugin and great support!
