For technical reasons I had to reinstall my server. When I imported the Payment History EDD sent EVERYONE an email that need to verify their account.

You should warn about things like this!
Now all my customers have received 100% unnessecary emails.

You have caused a lot of hassle with this “feature”!

    Hi @duisterdenhaag

Sorry for the delay here. Most likely the emails were sent because at the time of the import an actual User account in WordPress with the same email address existed so EDD sent an email to verify that the purcahse belong to that same user to link them together.

I have logged a feature request to see if we can perhaps disable the account verify process during imports in the future.
I am sorry for the issues this caused and thanks for reporting it to us.

    Regards

    That is incorrect.

Importing payments & customers into WordPress using the EDD import (Tools) page does not (automatically) create a user account.

The emails the EDD sends out are for non-users to access their Purchase History. Again, importing means “inserting existing data”. No new verification should have to be taken (anymore)…

WordPress has filters to block emails upon user creation. EDD does not call those hooks when importing customers.

We have logged an issue for this and we are looking into options to address this in future updates of EDD.
You can keep track of the progress here if you wish https://github.com/easydigitaldownloads/easy-digital-downloads/issues/8690
