Email sending delay

  • Hi there

    Firstly i wanted to say great plugin!!! We are actually using it for a volunteer registration system for a PGA golf tour event!

    My issue is a odd one – the system is for sure working, i am getting delays in the plugin sending out emails to admin and user when someone registers. It seams to be isolated to just this plugin as i have another form on the site and when i submit that the emails come through right away.

    I have tried both SMTP email config and the standard wordpress email setup and i get a varying delay from both which does not follow logic at all.

    Any ideas – is there a script that runs from your app that send out email and can i change the frequency of email sending?

    The plugin sends all emails immediately, what happens after that is up to the server…and the internet. Sometimes emails take a while to arrive.

    I am having this issue too.
    The emails seem to be random: sometimes I see the participant in the participant list but the participant does not receive any email, and I don’t receive the notification for a new participant.
    Sometimes the emails arrive with a delay, both to the participant and to the notification email address.

    My server seems OK, since I am sending emails to test it.
    Can you help?

    It’s extremely difficult to diagnose a problem like this, so I’m not sure how much help I can be, since the problem doesn’t happen every time. It could be the server acting up, it could be that some of the emails are flagged as spam and aren’t showing up in the inbox. It’s not really possible for the plugin to only send emails sometimes and not others, so it’s something that is happening after the plugin sends the email.
