    Hi,

    I’ve been using your plugin for a bit and it’s been working great. But very recently the automatic template email send functionality has stopped working. I assume there’s an update with the WordPress core, or even a different plugin, that has caused it to stop working but I wanted to check with you to see if you might have any insights that could help me fix it.

    In my settings:

    Under the Mail Options tab I have:
    “User created or edited: Deactivated WordPress automatic email…” selected
    “Enable mail templates:” deselected (because I have only one email template being used)
    “Customize the email that can be sent when importing users” I have this filled out entirely
    I used the “Send test email” button and that has worked–it does send the test email

    Under the Import tab: (this is where I think the problem is)
    Under Options > Send mail > “Do you wish to send a mail with credentials and other data?” I noticed that the box is unchecked consistently. I’ve checked the box before I’ve started importing but the email does not get sent. When I revisit the page the next time it is again unchecked. I’ve looked for a way to “save” the setting but I don’t see an option to save.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    @tca949,

    This is not a problem. I think this option has never been saved.

    We are working in a settings API to make possible to save every option in every screen and avoid all these problems.

    Hi again,

    I’ve been digging in and trying to figure it out by myself, even looking for the code within the plugin itself, but I just can’t get it to work anymore.

    On the import tab, under Options and Send Mail, I keep checking the box for “Do you wish to send a mail with credentials and other data?” but the template email I created does not get sent.

    Thanks again for any input.

    @tca949,

    Are you sure that emails are not being sent? Or maybe are not being received?

    Did you check it with some email log?

    Hi Javier,

    Yes, I’m using the Post SMTP plugin and it logs when I send myself one of the test emails from the mail options tab, as well as other emails from within the system.

    I also created a dummy user with my email address and tested it and didn’t receive the automated email.

    Perhaps are there any known conflicts with other plugins?

    Thanks for the help.

    UPDATE:

    Under the import tab, there are two checkbox options under the send email section;

    ? Do you wish to send a mail with credentials and other data?
    ??Do you wish to send this mail also to users that are being updated? (not only to the one which are being created)

    I’ve never checked the second box (users being updated) because every import is always new users, and not current users being updated. But I checked it on a recent import and it did send the new user the email. Is this the workaround that I should be using from here on out?

    Thanks.

    @tca949,

    No, it seems like in your case, new users are considered as updated but this is really strange because if you check the code, you will notice that this is only activated when a user is not created.
