email questions

  • Hi. I’m a novice, and need to solve email problems.
    When members register on my site, I want to send them an email thanking them, and telling them they’ll be reviewed for approval.
    I’ll personally activate their account, and then want to send a second letter notifying them of approval, and welcoming them.

    I’d greatly appreciate if someone can tell me how to accomplish this.

  • There are definitely plugins out there that will help you accomplish this.
    Check out the plugin repository and search for “email”. Looking quickly, I know I’ve used one of these in the past, “Postman SMTP Mailer/Email Log” I think, with very good results.

    Codemovement, is there anyway you know of to customize the notices sent out by new-usr-approval?

    The notices sent by this plugin are inside new-user-approve/includes/messages.php but however directly changing them is not a good practice, if changes are made direct in this file then when the plugin is update so all the changes will be lost.
