The email obfuscation works perfectly. The obfuscation uses a randomized coding combination of three algorithms. (Almost all other obfuscations only use one, making it easier to decode.) Just make sure you are logged out when you check. Sometimes people forget this, and that could be why you didn’t see the encoded version. (Bots would never be logged in, so the obfuscation would not need to be active when a user is logged in.) View the page source in your browser by right-clicking, and selecting “View Source” (text varies slightly by browser).

One thing to note, from the documentation:

It protects email addresses on pages, posts, comments, excerpts, and text widgets. (Note that this will not protect email addresses in themes — no plugin does that.)

Thanks for the quick answer. I was logged in when testing, but I see it works when logged out.
