Email Privacy/Access

  • Hi,

    I’m evaluating plugins for our site that will allow us to notify people of new content. However, I need to be able to assure our users that only the site admin will have access to their email address, and that by subscribing to our site, they are not giving away their email address to another party.

    Can you confirm that is the case with your plugin?

  • Haha, timrohrer, I think I’m following you around asking this.

    Looking for the same thing here. To be compliant with GDPR, we can’t be adding email addresses to mailing lists without approval, so we need to make sure this plugin doesn’t capture email addresses anywhere.

    Admittedly, I wasn’t even focusing on the GPDR, but I’m glad to hear that requirement.

    To me, it is just good privacy. If the email addresses are in my website’s database, then no one else should have access to them.
