I have 78 emails in mydomain, all working very well. I created a new email km93xv@…, only for your WP. Naturally, he worked very well (at the server side), I sent emails and received emails to this km93xv@…, without any problem, port 110.

In your admin, in Writing, in the correspoonding fields I put the exact data used as in the above paragraph.

As far as cancel: We don’t do it. You installed WordPress on your server. You don’t want it? Delete it from your server.

The Blog By Email functionality does indeed work. However, many web servers are behind firewalls or have other restrictions that will not allow the server to connect to the email system. This is not a WordPress problem, as such, because WordPress cannot anticipate every server setup. Your server, your host, your problem.

Also, Blog By Email does not stand alone. You have to setup a cron job to hit the wp-mail.php file every so often, to make it look for the email. This is not built in, because most people do not use this functionality, and would not need it.

Dear cbrito80. From the top of my 10 years experience in Web Integration, I can tell you that wordpress is by far the best blog/cms I’ve ever tried… I use it for blogs and CMS. Also, the WP community is also the most dynamic and helpfull I met in my whole digital life.

I’m really not a php guru nor a real pro, but the fact is that the email bloggin feature of wordpress works on every installaton I made (more thant 20).

Just explain your problem. Could you write here what yourdomain.com/worpressfiles/wp-mail.php tells you ? …

Also, can you tell us what kind of web server you’re running on ?

These two first steps are more essential than telling us that you’re hangry not being able to get it working…

But the data entered in your Admin –> Writing, are 100% correct, the mail.mba-, the pass, and the user km93xva4.

Therefore, as you imagine, with all ok, it is very disappointed because this is not a real problem, he must work but do not work.

I do not find your data to put in the admin –> WRiting, in your e-mail.

But as I explained in the last e-mail, they are the same that are in the email server, as:

1. mail.mba-business-administration-courses.us (port 110)
2. [email protected]
3. the password.

These data are the same that I have in my email server, and work well to receive/retrieve e-mails.

And if the wp-mail.php work alone, he answer with the Ooops pop3 that you see in his code. Apparently he need variables from the main program, but I do not know your php code. As a matter of fact, I suppose that I do not need to know your code for this installation.

Ehuh.. If I can give you an advice, the way you starded this topic wasn’t the best method for getting help… If you,re so experienced with the web, then, you should know the basic steps of troubleshooting :

1) I want to do this
2) I tried that
3) What do I miss ?

Hummm, from what I can tell, you have at least one error here… So no, it’s not 100% correct… The user name shoudn’t be written that way… You should use the whole email adress… [email protected]

Also, as your mail server is “mail.mba-…” I could guess that the dns zone for your mail server is different from your web server. So the problem is maybe that they are not able to communicate between each other (the fact that you can receive and send email with a mail software doesn’t mean in anyway that the mail server and the web server where wordpress is installed can communicate)…

Try with the right user name I told you (whole email adress) and try with “localhost” in the server name field…if the issue persist, then your problem is your server configuration, not worpress…
