I’ve read here and on your site that the problem with email notifications not being sent is probably because smtp is not set up properly on the server, however, this is not the problem with our site. Email notifications are sent by other plugins just fine, and they work with this one, but ONLY while admin is logged in and testing the upload page.

When I’m logged out, the files get uploaded okay, but the email notification does not go to the person who uploaded the file, as it does when logged in.

How can I troubleshoot this? Thank you.

Okay, figured it out. In the shortcode composer, for Notifications, Email Recipients, I had %useremail%, but since I have the plugin set so users can upload without being logged in, it should be %userdata2% (user email is the second of the userdata fields) – that way, it uses the email address from the email field supplied by the user.
