    Hello,

I’m really enjoying working with Forminator. Easy to use and a good design.

Having said that, I run into a problem with email notifications because they’re not being sent out.

Having checked this forum for answers, I’ve unfortunately not found anything that’s helpful to me.

I have 2 different email addresses set up. None of them are receiving the emails notification of a form submitted.

Submission was successful because I tested the payment (PayPal sandbox – payment went through) and I can see the submissions listed in Forminator for the form tested.

I’d appreciate any help you can offer.

    HI @dutchie88vwt

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

In case of issues with e-mail notification the first thing to check is to make sure that these notifications didn’t go to SPAM folder. Unfortunately, it can happen and often is what actually does happen.

If you are sure they are not in spam then the next question (and thing to check) is whether missing e-mails are only those from Forminator or some other e-mails too. For example – are “lost password” or new user account activation e-mails coming through or they are missing as well? What about notifications from other plugins (if there are any set)?

Also, are e-mails used for notifications in site’s domain or 3rd-party domain? By that I mean whether they are e.g. [email protected] – where “domain.com” is your site – or [email protected] (or other external e-mail domain)?

If answer to any of the two questions above is “yes” then next step would be to try to switch your site’s WordPress to use SMTP for sending e-mails as the issue might be related to some limitations imposed by your host (they are often the case).

Our own free Branda can be of help here (and it’s SMTP option):

or another free plugin such as e.g. Easy WP SMTP or Post SMTP Mailer/Email Log.

If that doesn’t help either, there might be some conflict which would require further investigation but I’d recommend starting with above steps.

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for your quick response to my question.

RE your suggestions for a possible solution: I checked every one of them before putting my original questions to you, except for the SMTP option.

I will check whether that option provides the solution and get back to you.

    Thanks and best — Dutchie

An excellent suggestion to switch to SMTP for sending emails. It solved the problem.

Thanks again for your quick response.

    Best regards,
