    Dear Sirs,

First of all, thank you for this great plugin.

I was wondering if you would consider adding an option to send email notification only in case of errors that prevented the completion of the backup successfully, instead of any error, irrelevant of the end result of the backup job.

Let me explain better what I mean.

Currently, if I schedule a backup to FTP for example (let’s say with 3 attempts) and I select the checkbox to receive an email only in case of errors, I will be notified even if first attempt fails (for whatever reason) but then the 2nd or 3rd attempt complete successfully and therefore the backup has completed successfully.

So basically, instead of only having the option to receive notification in case of any error, maybe there could be another checkbox “only in case backup is not successful” or something like that.

I hope to hear back from you and the devs if you were to consider the change in how notification works. I think it would be really useful.

@lucspe but with Gmail, I think you can create a temproary workaround with Gmail filter

    Hi @duongcuong96,

Sure, I understand this is not a priority. It’s ok if you just consider it and also if you decide not implement it. I just proposed it because I think it’s probably useful to other people.

As for Gmail, I am not sure how you would be able to create a filter that would only catch the emails reporting an error and that did not complete the backup and separate them from the emails reporting an error and that did complete the backup.

    Hi @lucspe

If backup job success with warnings, something like this will show in the log:
    Job finished with warnings

If the job successfully without any warnings, something like this will show in the log:
    Job done in

If the job ends with errors, in the log will show:
ERROR: Job has ended with errors

So I think you can create a Gmail filter that catches only a log has the words ERROR: Job has ended with errors, all other reports will be automatically moved to trash

    Hope that could help ^^
